Selena Gomez may be dating The Weeknd, but that didn’t stop her from releasing the brand new breakup single “It Ain’t Me.”
She first sared the record on Twitter, insisting, “finally here!”
Produced by Norwegian producer Kygo, the uptempo and boombastic “It Ain’t Me” highlights a tumultuous breakup, a feeling close to Gomez after her public split from Justin Beiber.
“Somewhere along the lines/We stopped seeing eye to eye/You were staying out all night/And I had enough,” Gomez sings in the lyrics. “No, I don’t wanna know where you been or where you’re going/But I know I won’t be home/And you’ll be on your own.”
Gomez was recently spotted kissing The Weeknd, who has some seemingly keen lyrics of his own on the new song “Some Way” by Nav.
“I think your girl, think your girl, fell in love with me,” and “I just took that chick, and I know you feelin’ some way” are a few of the lyrics he sings.
In related news, TMZ reports that Gomez picked up the $30,000 tab for her new boyfriend’s birthday bash at Dave & Buster’s in Hollywood on Monday (Feb. 13). Abel’s guest list for the party included A$AP Rocky, French Montana, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Travis Scott, Migos, A$AP Rocky, Quavo, and Bryson Tiller. Gomez couldn’t attend because she was in New York for Fashion Week.
